Smart Cards
G4Tec has a range of Smart Card readers designed to meet specific customer requirements.
Some of the most popular are the US Government Common Access Card (CAC) Readers.
Smart Card technology is developing rapidly and new Readers are developed on a regular
basis to comply with the latest standards and integrate with the latest high security
Smart Cards.
In 1995, G4Tec was asked to provide smart card-based physical access security systems
for use in the U.S. Navy´s Multi-technology Automated Reader Card (MARC) program
in Hawaii. Since that time, G4Tec contact and contactless readers have been installed
in numerous additional government and commercial facilities. G4Tec smart card readers
are on display at the U.S. Government Services Administration´s Smart Card Technology
Demonstration Center in Washington D.C.

In late 2002, G4Tec decided to extend the range of our biometric product integration to include readers.
