Symmetry™ Web Access
Security Management Software Module

Web Access Screen - click to enlarge The optional Symmetry Web Access module enables you to monitor, control and administer your Symmetry Security Management System (Symmetry SMS) using Microsoft® Internet Explorer over the Internet or through your company's intranet.

Using the Symmetry Web Access module, you have the ability to perform a wide range of tasks, such as setting up card holders, producing badges, generating reports, monitoring alarms and registering visitor details. A Web Client requires no sentinel or special software to be installed, making it the ideal choice for users who require casual access to the Symmetry SMS software from any location.

The user interface at a Symmetry Web Client is the same as is displayed at a standard client of the Symmetry SMS software. This enables users to obtain the full benefits from the easy-to-use software and eliminates the overhead of learning a new user interface.

The Symmetry Web Access module uses "Thin Client" technology. This avoids the need to download large amounts of data to and from the server, since only mouse and keyboard actions are transmitted, and screen updates received. As a result, remote users can experience LAN-like performance over standard modem, WAN, ISDN or Internet connections. In addition, since all processing is carried out on the server, fast response times are achievable from a low-cost client PC.
